Colombia's Mesa De Los Santos Typica is sourced from a family-owned estate located near Bucaramanga in the department of Santander, Colombia. The 800-acre property was named La Mesa de Los Santos (the Table of the Saints) in 1840 by its founder Telmo J. Diaz, who managed it with generosity, integrity, and a quest for excellence. The estate's heritage has been passed down through the family to Telmo's grandson Oswaldo Acevedo, who continues to uphold his grandfather's values. La Mesa de Los Santos has been running for over a decade and has a fair compensation program in place that pays wages well above the Colombian minimum salary to the hardworking campesinos who grow and process the coffee. As a result of this program, workers and their families also receive benefits such as free health care, education stipends for children, insurance for temporary or permanent work disability, and a pension fund for retirement benefits.
